Bouncy Castle Hire FAQs - VRP Castles

Looking for reliable bouncy castle hire near you? Below are the most frequently asked questions about hiring from VRP Castles, your trusted local inflatable and party hire company.

Do VRP Castles have Public Liability Insurance?

Yes. VRP Castles holds £5 million Public Liability Insurance for all bouncy castle hire and soft play hire services.

This insurance protects VRP Castles against claims arising from:

  • Improper or unsafe set-up
  • Faulty equipment supplied by us

It does not cover:

  • Negligent or reckless use
  • Lack of supervision
  • Altering the set-up after installation
  • Damage occurring during misuse

Insurance certificates are available upon request.

Do you deliver, set up and collect the bouncy castle?

Yes - delivery, professional installation and collection are all included in your bouncy castle hire price.

Our trained team ensures every inflatable is safely installed and fully secured before use.

What days do you offer bouncy castle hire?

We offer bouncy castle hire 7 days a week, 365 days a year (subject to availability), including weekends and bank holidays.

We recommend booking early, especially for summer weekends and school holidays.

What happens on the day of hire?

On the day of your inflatable hire:

  • We arrive at your agreed delivery time
  • We safely install and secure the inflatable
  • A responsible adult (18+) must be present
  • You will confirm you've read the Terms & Conditions
  • Any remaining balance must be paid before set-up

Please ensure:

  • The area is clear of debris, toys and pet waste
  • There is clear access (minimum 3ft wide)
  • Grass is cut if outdoors

Where can you set up a bouncy castle?

Outdoor Bouncy Castle Hire

We can set up on grass only for safety reasons.

We do not install on:

  • Gravel
  • Pebbles
  • Sand
  • Soil
  • Uneven hard ground

Indoor Bouncy Castle Hire

We can install in:

  • Village halls
  • Community centres
  • Sports halls
  • Large indoor venues

The ceiling must be at least 1ft higher than the inflatable.

Can you deliver through a house if there is no side access?

Yes, but only with prior agreement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3ft wide clear access
  • Clear route through the property
  • Suitable protection for flooring

Inflatables are heavy and transported using sack barrows. VRP Castles cannot accept liability for damage if internal access is unsuitable and the hirer insists on delivery.

How much space do I need for a bouncy castle?

For most standard children's bouncy castles you will need:

  • 3ft clearance at the front and rear
  • 2ft clearance on each side
  • 3ft wide access for delivery

The area must be free from:

  • Sharp objects
  • Garden tools
  • Furniture
  • Animal waste

How long is the hire period?

Standard bouncy castle hire is up to 7 hours for the same price.

We typically:

  • Deliver from 8am
  • Collect later the same day

Longer or later collections may be available by arrangement.

Can we hire a bouncy castle overnight?

Yes, overnight hire is available (subject to approval):

  • £30 additional charge
  • Collection by 9am next morning
  • Secure, well-lit location required

The hirer is fully responsible for theft, damage or vandalism during overnight hire.

What age group are your bouncy castles suitable for?

Children's bouncy castles are suitable for ages up to 12 years (size dependent).

Teenagers and adults require an adult-rated inflatable.

If you're unsure which inflatable is suitable for your party or event, contact VRP Castles for advice.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety is our priority.

Inflatables must NOT be used in:

  • Heavy rain
  • Strong winds
  • Thunderstorms

Maximum safe outdoor wind speed is 38km/h (Force 5).

If we believe weather conditions are unsafe, we may contact you prior to delivery. If we cancel due to safety concerns, we will offer an alternative date.

Once installed, refunds are not issued for worsening weather conditions.

What should I do if it rains during the party?

  • Remove all users immediately
  • Keep the inflatable switched ON
  • Do NOT turn off at the mains

Keeping it inflated prevents water pooling.

Once rain stops, towel dry surfaces before allowing children back on.

How much electricity does a bouncy castle use?

A standard bouncy castle blower uses approximately 10p per hour in electricity (based on average UK rates).
